Adjusted Hours at Rio Hondo Tax Office

 

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS – The Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office announces temporary adjusted operating hours at the Rio Hondo Tax Office. These changes have been approved by the Cameron County Commissioners Court and are intended to prioritize the safety of both staff and visitors while maintaining access to essential services.

Effective Monday, February 2, 2026, the Rio Hondo Tax Office, located at 125 W. Colorado Ave., Rio Hondo, TX 78583, will operate under the following schedule:

Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Rio Hondo branch will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Normal full operations (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) will continue at all other Cameron County Tax Office locations, including the main office in Brownsville and branch offices in Harlingen, San Benito, Los Fresnos, Port Isabel, La Feria, and other locations.

Residents may visit any countywide location for property tax payments, vehicle registration renewals, title services, and other transactions. A complete list of office locations and hours is available at www.cameroncountytx.gov/tac.
