CAMERON COUNTY TEMPORARILY CLOSES BOCA CHICA BEACH AND BEACH ACCESS AREAS

Effective today, October 29, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr., has ordered the temporary closure of the following Cameron County beaches:

  • Boca Chica Beach
  • County Beach Access No.4
  • County Beach Access No. 5/E.K. Atwood Park Pavilion
  • County Beach Access No. 6

These County beaches will be temporarily closed until further notice to all incoming vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to high tides being brought upon by the most recent high surf conditions in the Gulf of Mexico that call for undrivable land conditions.

Because of this, we ask that all individuals be cautious when visiting our beaches and heed the advice of authorities patrolling our beaches. In addition, be aware of the Flag Advisory System which notes the current surf conditions.

County beach access areas on South Padre Island such as Isla Blanca Park will remain open until further notice.

Cameron County is committed to protecting the life, health, and well-being of everyone on our Coastal Beaches and will inform of any updates. Should you have any questions or concerns, please refer to the Cameron County website for related news and updates at www.cameroncountytx.gov, or contact the Cameron County Parks and Recreation Department at (956) 761-3701
