CAMERON COUNTY TO BEGIN DEBRIS PICKUP AND REMOVAL
IN UNINCORPORATED AREAS

As recovery efforts continue after the severe rain events of March 27-28, 2025, Cameron County will begin debris pickup and removal in the unincorporated areas impacted by flooding on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

County residents are asked to separate storm debris into the following six categories, to the extent possible:

  • Appliances & White Goods: Air conditioners, dishwashers, freezers, stoves, washers & dryers, water heaters, heat pumps, and refrigerators.

  • Vegetative Debris:  Vegetation, logs, plants and tree branches should not be put into bags.

  • Construction & Demolition Debris: Building materials, carpet, drywall, furniture, plumbing, glass, floor/window coverings, and pipes.

  • Household Hazardous Waste: Cleaning supplies, batteries, lawn chemicals, oils, pesticides, oil-based paint & stains, pool chemicals, varnishes, and solvents.

  • Electronic Waste: Computers, radios, stereos, televisions, and other electronic devices.

  • Normal Household Trash: Normal household waste, recyclables, and bagged debris will NOT be collected with storm debris. Please continue to follow your normal garbage removal schedule.

Storm debris should be placed on the sidewalk or at the edge of your property before the curb. DO NOT block the roadway or storm drains. Additionally, placing debris near or on trees, poles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, utility boxes or other structures may make debris removal impossible.

“We are working as quick as possible to begin debris removal in the areas effected by the recent flood waters and ask for help separating debris into proper categories. As recovery remains ongoing, Cameron County is continuing to provide aid and assistance to residents in need,” stated County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr.
