The County of Cameron is considering an amendment to Colonia Self Help Center Contract No. 7220023 to create a Housing Rehabilitation line item and move $25,004 from the Housing Reconstruction and $69.03 from the Public Services line items to the Housing Rehabilitation line item. The budget changes will increase the number of rehabilitations by one unit and have no impact on the proposed number of reconstructions. The activities and services are proposed to benefit the colonia residents of Valle Hermosa, Olmito, Arroyo Colorado Estates, and Santa Maria in Cameron County and Sebastian in Willacy County.
A public hearing concerning the proposed application is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 5, 2025, at the Cameron County Courthouse, 1100 E. Monroe St., Brownsville, TX, 78520, second floor Commissioners’ Courtroom. The purpose of this public hearing is to discuss the proposed application and solicit citizen input on the proposed activities. All citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing and present their views.
