On April 7, 2020 Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr., issued the Supplemental Emergency Management Order and Recommendations Concerning Additional Travel Restrictions and Face Coverings due to the increasing concerns of a COVID-19 spike and outbreak. in the U.S. In conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), it was recommended to utilize a face mask/ covering when out in public and that all travel deemed essential or necessary be limited to no more than two (2) individuals per vehicle, and when possible, be voluntarily limited to one ( l) person per vehicle due to the CDC recommendation of social distancing not being possible in most vehicles.
