NOTICE TO CAMERON COUNTY RV GUESTS REGARDING 2026 SUMMER RESERVATIONS FOR ISLA BLANCA PARK & ADOLPH THOMAE JR., COUNTY PARK
The Cameron County Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce that it will begin accepting reservations for the upcoming 2026 summer camping season starting January 15, 2026 at 8:00 p.m., via the online reservation system at https://www.cameroncountytx.gov/parks-coastal-parks/parks-rv-reservations/, with the exception of Andy Bowie Park. Andy Bowie Park is still under construction and will be released at a later date. Reservations by phone or in-person will be accepted the following day at Isla Blanca Park and Adolph Thomae, Jr. County Park during normal hours of operation.
Due to ongoing construction, only 43 RV sites located outside of Isla Blanca Park will be available to reserve during this event. All other sites in the interior of the park remain under construction. These 43 sites are located outside of the park gates next to Dirty Al’s Restaurant. Of the 43 sites, 19 are partial hook-up (water & elect. only) and 24 are full hook-up (water, elect. & sewer) with no cable. All sites offer both 30-AMP and/or 50-AMP service connections. A sanitary dump station will be available for guests staying in the partial hook-up sites. Additional Dry Camping will also be available in designated areas inside the park. Please note that reservations for dry camping will only be available by phone, email, or in-person.
In anticipation of high demand, we strongly urge guests to refrain from clicking the “show availability” button repeatedly or constantly trying to refresh the page. This will only cause the system to lag, and could possibly further delay the registration process. Please remember, reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our offices or submit your inquiry via email to the park of your choice. Please find listed below the office hours, emails and telephone numbers for each park, along with helpful tips on how to make a reservation.

Helpful Online Reservation Tips:
- Making a reservation is as simple as selecting a park and entering the date range for your stay, RV type and length, then selecting “Show Availability”. The park’s map will then populate with the available sites for the selected dates. Once you choose your site, you will be prompted to enter required fields of information followed by an option to secure your reservation with payment. When finished, a transaction receipt will be sent to the email you’ve provided.
- For guests who already know what site they want, simply click on the specific site. If the site is available, the site will populate on the parks map for selection. Follow the prompts to complete your reservation (see instructions above).
- Please note that the online reservation system DOES NOT offer weekly and/or daily reservations during June and July. Online reservations for these months are strictly limited to monthly (complete month or multiple month) reservations. Any online reservations failing to meet this provision will be declined by the system.
- For guests reserving a month or longer, it is important to note that the system will only apply the monthly rate if the arrival “date” and check-out “date” are the same. For example: June 3rd thru July 3rd for one month, or June 9th through August 9th for two months, etc. Reservations not matching this format will be billed at a higher rate if applicable.
- Monthly reservations require payment in full for the entire month. Multiple month reservations require payment in full for the first month only. Daily and weekly reservations require payment in full for the entire stay.
The Parks Department will remind guests of the event as we approach the release date. For the latest Park’s news, please visit the Cameron County Parks & Recreation Facebook page, Cameron County Parks & Recreation website or the Cameron County website. Please keep in mind that Isla Blanca Park has remained open during construction, and will continue to do so. Campers and day visitors can continue to enjoy the pristine beach, beach-side pavilions, boardwalk, concessions, jetties fishing, and boat ramp throughout all phases of construction.
We sincerely appreciate your patronage and hope that you can continue to visit Isla Blanca Park and Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park.
Sincerely,
Joe E. Vega
Parks Director
