UPGRADE COMPLETED – CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS ACCEPTED BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 8, 2025
Cameron County is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first phase of the Cameron County Parks toll collection system upgrade project. Beginning Monday, September 8, 2025, all currently operational toll collection lanes will be equipped to accept credit card payments, offering a more convenient and flexible way to access our parks.
Credit card payment will now be available at Isla Blanca Park, Cameron County Beach Access No.5 (E.K. Atwood Park), Cameron County Beach Access No.6 and Adolph Thomae, Jr. County Park. The upgraded toll collection system will accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.
Renovations are currently underway at Andy Bowie Park and Cameron County Beach Access No. 3. Once the upgrades are completed, these locations will also be fully equipped to support credit card transactions further enhancing the convenience and efficiency of our toll collection process.
“This upgrade marks a significant step forward in modernizing our toll system and enhancing the overall visitor experience. By enabling credit card payment options at our lanes, we are providing park visitors with greater convenience and flexibility. We appreciate the public’s patience and support as we move toward to full system implementation,” Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr.
“Improving infrastructure that prioritizes accessibility and convenience is one of our top goals. The completion of this first phase is a great example of how we are striving to improve everyday services for our residents and visitors. I’m excited that all County Coastal Park Toll Collection lanes will now be accepting credit cards,” Commissioner Sofia C. Benavides.
“We’re excited to mark the completion of the first phase of our toll system upgrade. Adding credit card payment options is a meaningful step toward creating a more efficient and user-friendly experience for all visitors.
