Cameron County will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the County Courthouse Dancy Building, 1100 E. Monroe St., Brownsville, Texas in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, 2nd floor. This public hearing is regarding the submission of an application/s to the Texas Dept. of Agriculture for one or more Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) grants for Program Year 2026. The purpose of this meeting is to allow citizens an opportunity to discuss citizen plan, the development of local housing and community development needs, previously funded projects, social services, current condition of public infrastructure, and current efforts to promote economic development, the amount of TxCDBG funding available, all eligible TxCDBG activities & the use of past program funds. The County encourages all citizens to participate in the development of the TxCDBG application/s & to make their views known at the Public Hearing. Citizens unable to attend this meeting may submit their views, questions/proposals to Eddie Treviño, Jr., Cameron County Judge at the above address.
