Cameron County Public Health offers essential immunizations for both children and adults who qualify through the federally funded Texas Vaccines for Children and Adult Safety Net Programs. Once eligible, immunizations are offered regardless of a person’s inability to pay. Because immunizations help provide immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases, which can be life threatening, they are an important part of a person’s basic healthcare.
As a public health infrastructure, our health clinics provide CDC recommended vaccines that help provide the maximum protection to help strengthen both the child’s and adult’s immune system in order to keep them and our communities safe.

Vaccines are also an important part of helping to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the community so we work diligently with multiple community partners, including school districts to help increase and improve vaccination rates in Cameron County. To learn more about vaccine and how you and your family can get vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases, please stop by any of our health clinics or visit www.dshs.texas.gov/immunization-unit

The Texas Vaccine for Children Program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines to eligible children at no cost who might otherwise not be vaccinated because of inability to pay. Adult Safety Net offers vaccines for uninsured Adults in the State of Texas; or to Adults 19 years that had started a vaccine series while TVFC eligible and that have not reached their 20th Birthday
