The implementation of vector control surveillance is essential for public health officials aiming to effectively address the nuisance posed by mosquitoes as well as the transmission of vector-borne diseases, including Zika virus, West Nile virus, Dengue fever, and Chikungunya. The Cameron County Environmental Health Program is dedicated to this initiative through a range of methodologies that include trapping, larviciding, adulticiding, and conducting environmental assessments of residential properties. We also invite residents to actively participate in these efforts.
