Two CCJJD Employee(s) Presumed Positive for COVID-19

SAN BENITO, TEXAS: The Cameron County Juvenile Justice Department (CCJJD) was notified by two (2) employees working at the Amador R. Rodriguez Juvenile Boot Camp & Educational Center that they may be positive for COVID-19. The employees are drill instructors at the juvenile boot camp and immediately sought medical screening after having symptoms related to COVID-19. Because of privacy laws, the department will not release specific details of the employees. CCJJD is working closely with the Cameron County Health Department and is awaiting official confirmation, however, treating both cases as presumed positive. Cameron County has also received confirmation of an additional fifty-eight (58) case reports of COVID-19. This includes the following:
