VITAL STATISTICS

The County Clerk’s involvement in the Vital Statistics department is principally in the issuance of marriage licenses, the recording of birth and death certificates, and the issuance of certified copies of the same. The clerk is closely supported in these activities by the Vital Statistics Unit (“VSU”) of the Texas Department of the State Health Services in Austin.

Military Discharge Records (DD-214) are accepted for filing in the Vital Statistics Department at no charge.
