Indigent Health Care Cameron County Public Health

The Cameron County Indigent Health Care Program helps financially challenged County residents that meet income and resources requirements who also do not quality for other State or Federal healthcare programs with access to basic health care services.

Benefits are limited to participating providers who offer primary, preventative and most specialty services.

Basic healthcare services included are:

  • Physician Services
  • Medical Screening Services
  • Annual Physical Examinations
  • Immunizations
  • Laboratory and X-ray Services
  • Inpatient Hospital Services
  • Outpatient Hospital Services
  • Up to three Prescription Drugs per month

How do I apply?

Come by one of our two offices to pick up an application and make an appointment today.

Fundamental qualifications:

  • Resident of Cameron County
  • Do not qualify for Medicaid
  • Have a household income level at or below 21% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
  • Do not exceed $2,000 in household resources or $3,000, if a person in the household is 60+ or disabled

8 $54,150
For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $5,500 for each additional person.
